Gold Austrian Philharmonics 1oz .9999-Fine
COINSPlus, Inc. is pleased to offer gold investors the incomparable, pure gold Vienna Philharmonic...a legal-tender gold bullion coin recognized throughout the world for its beauty, purity and high quality.
Vienna Philharmonic coins are produced by the Austrian Mint in Vienna, Austria, which has been producing innovative coinage and currency for over 800 years, making it one of the oldest continuously-producing minting institutions in the world.
First struck in 1989, the Vienna Philharmonic coin is the only European legal tender gold coin produced on a large scale, and it is the only regularly issued bullion coin denominated in euros. It is also to our knowledge the only gold coin to ever have been featured on the side of an airplane...on an Austrian Airlines Airbus A340.
The Vienna Philharmonic is pure gold, with a fineness of .9999 or 24 karats, and is the largest diameter one-ounce pure gold coin in the world.
Each Vienna Philharmonic coin features imagery of the cultural pride of Austria, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The obverse side of the coin is stamped with the name of the orchestra in German, and features a montage of instruments, including a string bass, cellos, violins, a bassoon, harp and Viennese horn, representing Austria's rich musical and cultural heritage.
The reverse side of the coin features the image of the "Great Organ" found in Vienna's "Golden Hall," the concert hall where the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performs. The country of issue, the gold weight in ounces, legal tender value in euros, and the coin's purity are also stamped on the reverse side of the coin.
It is interesting to note that Vienna Philharmonic coin is unique in that it is one of the few gold coins in the world to have been minted and circulated with two different currency values: From 1989 through 2001, the coin was denominated in Austrian Shillings. Starting in 2002, the coins have been denominated in euros.
The one-ounce Vienna Philharmonic coin has a diameter of 37mm and is 2mm thick, giving the coin dimensions slightly smaller than the old US silver dollar coin. It carries a face value of 100 euros and is available from COINSPlus, Inc. in units of ten, one-ounce coins. Additionally, Vienna Philharmonic gold coins are suitable for an IRA investment.
With its incomparable beauty...technical perfection...unsurpassed purity...and legal tender status, gold Vienna Philharmonic coins provide investors with the means to diversify their investment portfolios with a hard asset that is both secure and internationally-recognized.

Gold South Africa Krugerand Coins 1oz
Minted since 1967 by the South African Mint, the Krugerrand was the very first governmint-issued gold bullion coin to contain a full troy ounce of net pure gold. It was intended to help market gold from Souh Africa's mines on the international investment market.
The Krugerrand was designed by O. Schultz, portraying the first President of the South African Republic, Paul Kruger. His portrait is surrounded by the name of his nation in Afrikaans and English, two of South Africa's eleven official languages: "SUID-AFRIKA ' SOUTH AFRICA".
A springbok (a South African antelope) prances across the reverse, as designed by C.L. Steynberg. This side also lists the date of issue and the amount and purity of the gold. Interestingly, the Krugerrand does not carry a face value, as it is primarily minted for trading outside South Africa.

Gold Switzerland 20-Franc Coins
Switzerland "Helvetia" Gold Swiss 20-Franc Coins
In 1871, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Italy agreed to standardize the weight and face value of their gold coins so that they could trade on par value, much like the ECU today. They settled on the 20 Franc gold coin, containing .1867 ounces of pure gold. Each country produced beautiful coins reflecting its own unique heritage and history. From the 1800s to the mid-1930s, gold 20 Franc coins were the backbone of European commerce. In 1933, when the United States abandoned gold coinage as currency, the rest of the world quickly followed suit and mintage ceased. Today these 20 Franc gold coins are not only pieces of history, they are works of art in their own right and fascinating reminders of a bygone golden era.
The obverse of this Swiss 20 Franc, considered by some as the loveliest of all Swiss coin designs, features a bust of a Vreneli, the charming 'Swiss Miss' of Swiss lore. With braided hair, she wears a garland of flowers and appears against the background of the Swiss Alps. Above her head appears the word 'HELVETIA', which is why this coin is also referred to as a Helvetia (Helvetia is now known as a western region in Switzerland, but it once referred to the entire area). The reverse of the coin features a Swiss shield over a background of an oak branch tied with ribbons.
The historic significance of these coins, their size (.1867 troy ounce) and their .900 fine purity have made this coin a favorite with investors and collectors who want the security of bullion coins with low premiums.
