Standard uncirculated bullion editions do not carry a mint mark.

1986-Date Proof Gold Eagles were issued by the West Point ("W") and Philadelphia ("P") mints with Mint-Marks situated under the dates. Featuring high-contrast frosted devices and mirror-like backgrounds these are visually stunning and virtually perfect coins.
2006 Reverse-Proof 1-oz Gold Eagles were struck to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the series with mirror-like devices and matte fields at West Point with a "W" mint mark.
2006-2008 Burnished Uncirculated Gold Eagles were issued with a "W" Mint Mark (for West Point) in a non-contrasting matte-finish.
From 1986 to 1991 the dates of American Gold Eagles were shown in Roman Numerals (MCMLXXXVI, MCMXC, etc), with Arabic numerals in use 1992-Date.
