Gold American .9999-Fine Buffalo US 1-oz

COINSPlus, Inc is proud to offer a one-of-a-kind masterpiece ...the gold American Buffalo, the first pure 24-karat gold bullion coin produced by the United States Mint.

Authorized by Congress through the Presidential Coin Act of 2005, the gold American Buffalo was first minted in 2006, and more than 300,000 of the coins were produced and sold that year.

Very limited mintages of 1-ounce Uncirculated Bullion Gold American Buffalo $50 have been issued in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Unlike previous American gold coinage, which has traditionally been 22-karat (or .9167 fine), the American Buffalo is unique in that it represents the United States' first large-scale circulation of a .9999 (or four-nines) fine gold coin in the Mint's history.

The obverse side of the Gold American Buffalo features the profile of a Native American man, while the reverse side features the silhouette of an American bison standing in profile, modeled after "Black Diamond," a popular attraction in the New York Zoological Gardens in the early part of the 20th century. The coin's images were originally created by the American sculptor James Earle Fraser, a student of well-known sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens -- designer of the popular $20 gold Double Eagle minted from 1907 to 1933. The images were originally featured on the popular "Indian Head" or "Buffalo" nickel, minted in the U.S. from 1913 to 1938.

Each American Buffalo coin contains exactly one troy ounce (or 31.1035 grams) of pure gold. Its diameter is 1.287 inches (or 32.70mm), with a thickness of 0.116 inches (or 2.95mm), making it approximately the same size as a U.S. half dollar coin.

The gold American Buffalo features a face value of $50 on the reverse side of the coin, is minted at the United States Mint in West Point, New York, but does not feature any mint mark. By law, all of the gold used in the production of the American Buffalo bullion coin must be from newly-mined sources within the United States.

COINSPlus, Inc offers the one-ounce gold American Buffalo in units of 10 coins for personal delivery only, and the coins are suitable for IRA investment.

Produced in America...pure "four-nines" fine quality...and its weight, content, and purity guaranteed by the United States Mint, the gold American Buffalo offers investors all the security, liquidity and protection of a world-class gold coin...and it's backed by the U.S. government.

Call COINSPlus today to discuss how you could add pure gold American Buffalo coins to your investment portfolio.

Gold Austrian Philharmonics 1oz .9999-Fine

COINSPlus, Inc. is pleased to offer gold investors the incomparable, pure gold Vienna Philharmonic...a legal-tender gold bullion coin recognized throughout the world for its beauty, purity and high quality.

Vienna Philharmonic coins are produced by the Austrian Mint in Vienna, Austria, which has been producing innovative coinage and currency for over 800 years, making it one of the oldest continuously-producing minting institutions in the world.

First struck in 1989, the Vienna Philharmonic coin is the only European legal tender gold coin produced on a large scale, and it is the only regularly issued bullion coin denominated in euros. It is also to our knowledge the only gold coin to ever have been featured on the side of an airplane...on an Austrian Airlines Airbus A340.

The Vienna Philharmonic is pure gold, with a fineness of .9999 or 24 karats, and is the largest diameter one-ounce pure gold coin in the world.

Each Vienna Philharmonic coin features imagery of the cultural pride of Austria, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The obverse side of the coin is stamped with the name of the orchestra in German, and features a montage of instruments, including a string bass, cellos, violins, a bassoon, harp and Viennese horn, representing Austria's rich musical and cultural heritage.

The reverse side of the coin features the image of the "Great Organ" found in Vienna's "Golden Hall," the concert hall where the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performs. The country of issue, the gold weight in ounces, legal tender value in euros, and the coin's purity are also stamped on the reverse side of the coin.

It is interesting to note that Vienna Philharmonic coin is unique in that it is one of the few gold coins in the world to have been minted and circulated with two different currency values: From 1989 through 2001, the coin was denominated in Austrian Shillings. Starting in 2002, the coins have been denominated in euros.

The one-ounce Vienna Philharmonic coin has a diameter of 37mm and is 2mm thick, giving the coin dimensions slightly smaller than the old US silver dollar coin. It carries a face value of 100 euros and is available from COINSPlus, Inc. in units of ten, one-ounce coins. Additionally, Vienna Philharmonic gold coins are suitable for an IRA investment.

With its incomparable beauty...technical perfection...unsurpassed purity...and legal tender status, gold Vienna Philharmonic coins provide investors with the means to diversify their investment portfolios with a hard asset that is both secure and internationally-recognized.

Call a COINSPlus, Inc. Account Representative today to discuss how a gold Vienna Philharmonic investment could become part of your investment portfolio...and about the many convenient ways you can purchase your gold Vienna Philharmonic coins from COINSPlus, Inc.

Gold South Africa Krugerand Coins 1oz

Minted since 1967 by the South African Mint, the Krugerrand was the very first governmint-issued gold bullion coin to contain a full troy ounce of net pure gold. It was intended to help market gold from Souh Africa's mines on the international investment market.

The Krugerrand was designed by O. Schultz, portraying the first President of the South African Republic, Paul Kruger. His portrait is surrounded by the name of his nation in Afrikaans and English, two of South Africa's eleven official languages: "SUID-AFRIKA ' SOUTH AFRICA".
A springbok (a South African antelope) prances across the reverse, as designed by C.L. Steynberg. This side also lists the date of issue and the amount and purity of the gold. Interestingly, the Krugerrand does not carry a face value, as it is primarily minted for trading outside South Africa.

Gold Switzerland 20-Franc Coins

Switzerland "Helvetia" Gold Swiss 20-Franc Coins

In 1871, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Italy agreed to standardize the weight and face value of their gold coins so that they could trade on par value, much like the ECU today. They settled on the 20 Franc gold coin, containing .1867 ounces of pure gold. Each country produced beautiful coins reflecting its own unique heritage and history. From the 1800s to the mid-1930s, gold 20 Franc coins were the backbone of European commerce. In 1933, when the United States abandoned gold coinage as currency, the rest of the world quickly followed suit and mintage ceased. Today these 20 Franc gold coins are not only pieces of history, they are works of art in their own right and fascinating reminders of a bygone golden era.

The obverse of this Swiss 20 Franc, considered by some as the loveliest of all Swiss coin designs, features a bust of a Vreneli, the charming 'Swiss Miss' of Swiss lore. With braided hair, she wears a garland of flowers and appears against the background of the Swiss Alps. Above her head appears the word 'HELVETIA', which is why this coin is also referred to as a Helvetia (Helvetia is now known as a western region in Switzerland, but it once referred to the entire area). The reverse of the coin features a Swiss shield over a background of an oak branch tied with ribbons.
The historic significance of these coins, their size (.1867 troy ounce) and their .900 fine purity have made this coin a favorite with investors and collectors who want the security of bullion coins with low premiums.

Actual Gold Content: .1867 troy ounce
Purity: 90%
Fineness: .900 Gold
Diameter: 21.0 mm
Thickness: 1.40 mm
Front design: Vreneli bust
Back design: Swiss shield

Gold US Saint-Gaudens $20 AU+

Obverse Design: Lady Liberty holding the Torch of Freedom and an olive branch with the United States Capitol in the background

Reverse Design: A Bald Eagle flying over the sun

Edge: Lettered with 'E Pluribus Unum' and stars

History
At the turn of the 20th century, President Theodore Roosevelt decided to start an effort to beautify American coinage. He hired Augustus Saint-Gaudens to overhaul American designs. Saint-Gaudens only lived to finish the Liberty Walking $20 Double Eagle and the Indian Head $10 Eagle. These two designs are considered by many to be the best designs of their denominations and some of the best of any American coin ever. The "Saint" Double Eagle design was voted the best American gold coin design and is currently used on American Eagle gold bullion coinage.

The original coinage of 1907 had an ultra high relief as the artist intended. However, when the Mint struck some coins, they required repeated striking by the presses, and had more the appearance of medals than coins. One alternative explored by the mint was reducing the diameter of the coin to that of a checker and making it thicker in an attempt to keep the ultra high relief. Some trials were struck, but most were destroyed (except two which were retained in the Mint collection) when it was discovered that consent of Congress was required to change the diameter of any coin. St. Gaudens redesigned the coin for a lower relief, but when some of these "high relief" coins were struck, they would not stack well, and the design was flattened again by St. Gaudens for circulating coins. Some of the high relief coins, though, found their way into circulation. The coins were minted continuously until 1933, except for 1917-19, when no coins were struck, due to the disruption of the First World War.

Godless Eagle-a.k.a. "Atheist Saint"
In 1907 and 1908, a number of eagle and double eagle coins were minted without the motto of "In God We Trust". At that time, the coinage laws did not require the motto, and so Saint-Gaudens had not been asked to include it. Roosevelt defended the omission as a prevention of a profane use of God's name, but in 1908, Congress passed an act requiring the use of the motto on all denominations of coins on which the motto had previously appeared--including the eagle and double eagle. The reverse of the coin was redesigned to include the motto.

It is always best to speak with one of our professional representatives if you have ANY questions regarding these fabulous coins. Most available are the Philadelphia Mint issues of 1908 (without and with Motto and 1922-1928, as well as San Francisco issues 1914-1916. Almost all other issues are scarce to extremely rare, especially in the highest grades!
